Dr Annette O'Donovan BDS MFD RCSI

Dr O'Donovan is the principal dentist of Alexandra Dental Practice, opening the practice in June 2006. Her philosophy is that the practice should be a comfortable and calming environment whilst providing up to date and modern dentistry.

Dr O’Donovan graduated in June 2001 from The University of Manchester. She has many years of experience in general dental practice and is a sustaining member of Royal college of Surgeons. She has also worked as a community dental officer for Guy's, King's College and St Thomas ' Hospitals in providing care to special needs patients and children in deprived areas of South-east London. Dr O'Donovan has also worked as a Senior House Officer in the Dublin Dental Hospital where she gained her postgraduate examinations with the Royal College of Surgeons.

Her areas of interest lie in comprehensive patient care, cosmetic and sedation dentistry. She is dedicated to continuing professional education and believes this reflects within the practice. She has studied extensively in the field of dental sedation at the Eastman Dental Institute London and is empathetic towards patients' needs. Dr O'Donovan has completed a 1-year cosmetic dentistry course run by the British Association of Cosmetic Dentistry ex-president Dr Chris Orr. She is currently pursuing another 1 year postgraduate course with Tipton Training in Dublin.

Dr O’Donovan has a keen interest is keeping up to date with recent developments in the dental world and has trained at Harley Street, London in Non surgical Facial Plastic enhancements (wrinkle treatments) using e.g. Botox and Fillers.

Dr Miriam Quilty BDS NUI

Dr Miriam Quilty joined Alexandra Dental Practice in September 2007. She graduated in 2004 from University College Cork and has since spent several years in general practice. Dr Quilty has carried out postgraduate training in the UK in the Inman Aligner and Six month smiles treatment. She is very friendly and caring allowing patients to feel instantly at ease with her. Her areas of interest include childrens dentistry and cosmetics. She has a real eye for detail and will go the extra mile to make sure her cosmetic work is 110%.

 

Dr Kate Horgan BDS NUI

Dr Kate Horgan is the newest member of the team at Alexandra Dental Practice, and we are delighted to have her. Dr Horgan graduated from University College Cork, having been awarded the prestigious IADR David B. Scott Fellowship, and the overall Winner of Outstanding Achievement in Operative Dentistry, with the Academy of Operative Dentistry. After graduating she spent some time working with the dental team in Work The World voluntary organisation in Nepal. This was followed by working in general dental practice in the UK, before returning home to Ireland. Dr Horgan interests specifically lie in the area of cosmetic dentistry and short term orthodontics. She is a great asset to the team.

 

 

Joelle Moussett

Joelle is the dental hygienist at the Alexandra Dental Practice. She has many years of experience working in the dental team. She has pursued further education in the field of Dentistry graduating from University College Cork with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene. Joelles' goals for each patient vary depending on their specific needs. She is highly skilled at providing thorough cleaning and polishing of the teeth, in a manner which is relaxed and comfortable for the patient. She is focused on educating the individual so that healthy teeth and gums can be maintained at home. She has a broad knowledge of the importance of diet, oral hygiene, dental maintenance and is happy to discuss these matters with patients at their consultation.

Miss Edel Greaney RDN

Edel has become our lead nurse having joined the dental team in 2007. She had no experience in dental nursing on joining but was very quick to learn and progressed onto completing the National Diploma in Dental Nursing which she will be awarded this summer. Edel has become a mentor for Catherine who is following in her footsteps to complete the diploma.

 

 

Cora Maughan RDN

Miss Catherine Clifford BA MA

Catherine was working as a denture technician before coming to Alexandra Dental Practice in 2009. Originally she studied a BA in History, Politics, Sociology and Social Studies in UL. She then went onto complete an MA in Woman Studies. Catherine is studying on the National Diploma in Dental Nursing.

 

 

Dr Suzy Abouri

Suzy is our part time dental nursing assistant and native of Honduras. She is a qualified dentist 10 years with a First Class Honours Degree but is awaiting a permit to practice in Ireland. She helps out part time at the practice as a part-time dental nurse.
